American Crossroads Finds Its Audience: New Acoustic Single, Spotify Momentum, and a Midwest Story Still Unfolding
As spring begins to break across Michigan’s Blue Water region, a quiet but steady wave of momentum is building around Michael Scott’s American Crossroads (Signature Edition) project.
Across Spotify, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok, listener engagement has surged over the last 28 days, with rising streams, increasing saves, and growing playlist placements signaling that the music is beginning to travel beyond its original audience.
And with summer around the corner, Scott is preparing to release a new acoustic interpretation of one of the album’s standout tracks.
A Campfire Version of “Days Go By” Arrives April 24
On April 24, Scott will release “Days Go By (Acoustic Version)”, the first entry in an ongoing acoustic series he calls Campfire Chords.
The concept is simple: take songs from the American Crossroads catalog and reinterpret them in a stripped-down format designed for intimate listening.
Scott says the timing felt natural.
“With summer coming and the weather starting to break here in Michigan, a lot of people will be out camping soon and sitting around fires,” Scott explains. “I thought people might want something a little toned-down while they’re out there.”
The Campfire Chords versions emphasize a lighter, more personal feel.
“It’s lighter in sound, more intimate—better for late-night listening or small gatherings.”
The acoustic series is expected to continue over the coming months, with additional releases appearing periodically.
But the motivation behind the project goes deeper than just seasonal listening.
“There’s more than one way to hit a curveball,” Scott says. “You can have a great song with multiple versions. Everyone might do it a little different. I can respect anyone who pursues the dream.”
Spotify Growth Signals Strong Listener Connection
Behind the scenes, streaming data suggests the music is gaining real traction.
Over the past month, Spotify listener activity has surged, with strong increases in streams and monthly listeners. Multiple songs from the album are also showing high save rates and repeat listener behavior, two of the most important signals Spotify uses when determining whether to recommend songs to new audiences.
Tracks from the project have begun appearing across several of Spotify’s discovery systems, including:
- Radio
- Personalized Mixes
- Release Radar
These placements indicate that Spotify’s algorithm has started testing the music with new listeners outside Scott’s existing fan base. When engagement remains strong—through saves, replays, and playlist adds—the platform typically expands exposure further.
Scott’s project has also received Spotify’s “Showcase” promotional designation, a feature used by the platform to highlight new releases and present them to listeners who already engage with similar genres.
Landing on the Country Hits Group Playlist Network
Alongside Spotify’s internal recommendation system, Scott’s music has also started appearing within independent playlist networks.
One notable addition came from the Country Hits Group, a curator network on Spotify known for compiling playlists featuring a mix of current charting country artists and emerging performers gaining traction online.
A track from American Crossroads, Heaven Can Wait recently landed at #91 on the 119-song playlist “Country Playlist 2026.”
The playlist includes songs from both established country artists and rising newcomers whose music is beginning to trend or go viral across streaming platforms.
Scott says the recognition was unexpected.
“Pretty amazed and grateful for the hard-working people over there putting together a playlist based on the performance of country music’s best, brightest, and hot newcomers.”
He also sees independent playlist curators as an essential part of the modern music ecosystem.
“Absolutely. Every listener matters, and these independent playlisters make a living off sharing our music with their audiences.”
The Launch Team Behind the Momentum
For Scott, the growth surrounding the album isn’t something he takes personal credit for.
Instead, he points to a small but dedicated community of supporters who have helped spread the music.
“Hands down, the Launch and VIP Team has been amazing,” he says. “Loyal and dedicated. The early success of the album is a direct result of their hard work and support.”
The team has played a major role in driving early engagement through streams, saves, shares, and playlist additions—signals that help platforms like Spotify recognize listener interest.
“I’m hoping the pre-saves, likes, shares, and playlist adds continue so we can keep the ball rolling and grow the music together.”
Songs That Listeners Are Connecting With
Several tracks from the album appear to be resonating strongly with listeners so far.
Among the most popular:
Scott is hopeful the upcoming acoustic version of Days Go By will continue building that momentum.
A Story Rooted in Faith and Second Chances
While the music blends elements of country, southern rock, and blues, Scott says the themes behind the songs come directly from personal experience.
“The songs are honest snippets from my life—or metaphors about what I’ve learned about life and the Lord.”
He speaks openly about a difficult past and the role faith played in changing his path.
“I was living in a really dark place for a long time,” he says. “But God protected me and gave me a second chance at life.”
Since then, Scott says he has fought through depression and serious health struggles while slowly rebuilding his life.
“After so much time I’m finally emerging into a better state of mind, body, health, and spirit—and it’s all because God never left my side. He wasn’t always present. But He was always there.”
Those experiences now form the backbone of the American Crossroads message: faith, family, freedom, and redemption.
A Midwest Sound With a Hometown Identity
Scott’s music is also deeply tied to his hometown of Port Huron, Michigan, a working-class city along the Blue Water shoreline where the St. Clair River meets Lake Huron.
“Hometown influence is big,” Scott says. “We live a different kind of life than someone out west or down south, but we’ve got hard-working people here who love country music too.”
That regional identity shapes songs like “Little Town I Love,” which pays tribute to the Blue Water community.
“Port Huron—no place I’d rather be.”
The Beginning of a Much Bigger Songbook
For Scott, American Crossroads represents just the beginning.
“This project is really the starting point of developing my sound,” he explains.
Behind the scenes, he says he has a notebook full of songs and a vault of demos waiting to be recorded—either by himself or by other artists looking for new material.
“If you’re looking for a hit and a fresh perspective on a Midwestern sound, give me a call.”
Looking Ahead
With streaming numbers rising, social media engagement growing rapidly, and the upcoming release of “Days Go By (Acoustic Version)” on April 24, the American Crossroads journey continues to gather momentum.
For listeners discovering the music for the first time—and those who have followed along from the beginning—the next chapter is just getting started.
