The Launch Team Behind the Early Momentum of American Crossroads (Signature Edition)
When American Crossroads (Signature Edition) debuted last Friday, the goal wasn’t simply to release an album.
The goal was to begin building a movement around honest storytelling — songs rooted in faith, family, freedom, redemption, and the crossroads that shape our lives.
Now, just days after the album’s debut weekend, the early response has already been incredibly encouraging.
But before we talk about the numbers, there’s something more important to recognize.
This launch didn’t happen because of a record label, a marketing agency, or a large promotional machine.
It happened because of people.
The Launch Team.
Friends, listeners, and supporters who stepped forward to help bring the music to life.
The Dream That Started It All
Long before the album ever reached a streaming platform, American Crossroads began as something much simpler.
It started as a lifelong dream.
For Michael Scott, the idea of writing and producing an album had been quietly forming for years — shaped by musical influences, family encouragement, and the belief that songs could carry meaningful stories.
“This was a lifelong dream that became a reality because of the support, love, and encouragement of a select few people very early on in the process,” Scott says.
“I'm so grateful for those people. God has blessed me with an amazing support system, and I want to make them proud by doing this the right way.”
Some of the earliest inspiration came from family and friends who helped shape the way Scott thought about songwriting.
“If it wasn't for my Uncle Chris and Aunt Kim teaching me about the relationship between Bernie Taupin and Elton John, my mother's unwavering encouragement, and from a listening perspective, friend Rusty Fournier's blues and rock infused musical influence over the years, this album would not exist today.”
That foundation of encouragement and musical inspiration eventually became the starting point for what would become American Crossroads.
Four Days of Preparation
In the days leading up to the album’s release, the Launch Team spent four focused days preparing for the debut weekend.
Links were circulated.
Posts were scheduled.
Friends and supporters were contacted.
People began spreading the word before the album ever appeared on streaming platforms.
The goal was simple:
Create awareness so that when the album debuted on Friday, people would already be ready to listen.
Launch Weekend
When American Crossroads (Signature Edition) officially debuted Friday, the Launch Team immediately went to work.
Throughout the weekend, supporters streamed the album, shared posts, and helped circulate the music across social platforms.
Videos spread through Facebook and YouTube.
Songs began appearing in personal playlists.
New listeners began discovering the album.
Within hours, it became clear that something meaningful had started.
The music was finding its audience.
Early Weekend Momentum
While the full analytics for the first week of release will be reported this coming Saturday, the early signals from launch weekend already point to strong momentum.
Across social platforms, the music and related content have generated significant engagement.
Since early March:
- 22,000+ Facebook views
- 8,400+ YouTube views
- Over 1,000 views on “Little Town I Love (Ode to Port Huron)” alone
Those numbers reflect something important.
People aren’t just discovering the music.
They’re sharing it.
Early Streaming Indicators
Even in the first days following the launch, the early streaming analytics show encouraging engagement patterns.
- 1,139 total artist streams
- 944 album streams
- 296 monthly listeners
- 130 active listeners
- 115 new active listeners
- 11 super listeners
Listeners have saved songs from the project 317 times and added them to 89 playlists, both strong indicators of engagement for a new independent release.
Across the catalog, listeners are averaging nearly four streams per listener, while the album itself is averaging just over three streams per listener.
That tells us something important.
People aren’t just sampling the songs.
They’re coming back to listen again.
Music Crossing Borders
Another encouraging development from the early data is how far the music has traveled.
Listeners have already tuned in from nine different countries, with the United States leading the way and Canada accounting for roughly 15% of listeners.
“Blown away, honestly,” says Scott.
“The early distribution of this album has been phenomenal. Especially that 15% of listeners are north of the border in Canada. There are some very specific people who have played a role in that. I'm both blessed and grateful.”
A Launch Powered by Community
Behind every independent release is a moment when supporters become something larger than fans.
They become a community around the music.
That’s exactly what happened during launch weekend.
“Honestly, I never expected that I would receive so much support for the debut of this album,” Scott says.
“So many amazing people have gone out of their way to make American Crossroads what I consider to be an early success.”
The collective effort demonstrated something powerful.
“This shows you the strength that can be generated behind a movement if people work together as a team with one common goal,” he says.
“And don't forget — with God anything is possible. His hand has been all over this record.”
A Song That Hit Home in Port Huron
While the early analytics show the album spreading across countries and streaming platforms, one of the most meaningful responses has come much closer to home.
The song “Little Town I Love (Ode to Port Huron)” has quickly become one of the most shared tracks from the album.
The song is a tribute to the Blue Water Area — the river, the boardwalk, the Blue Water Bridge, and the small-town spirit that defines Port Huron.
Within just a few days of the launch, content connected to the song generated over 1,000 views on its own, with many listeners from the local community sharing it across social media.
“For me, that song was about honoring the place that helped shape who I am,” Scott says. “Port Huron has a spirit to it — the river, the people, the sense of community. It’s something you carry with you wherever you go.”
The response from local listeners helped fuel the early momentum of the album and showed exactly how powerful community-driven support can be for independent music.
The Message Behind the Music
At its core, American Crossroads was written around three guiding principles.
“Faith, family, and freedom,” Scott explains. “There's nothing more important in the world to me.”
Those themes appear throughout the album’s storytelling.
Many of the songs explore the tension between temptation and redemption — struggles that most people face at some point in life.
“You always see themes of temptation and redemption,” Scott says.
“Those stories will become even more prevalent in future releases.”
The Next Chapter: Writing, Producing, and Collaboration
While the album has only just begun its journey, the work behind the music is already continuing.
Scott has already begun developing material for a follow-up album, continuing the songwriting and storytelling that began with American Crossroads.
But the work ahead isn’t limited to his own music.
He also plans to spend time collaborating, songwriting, and producing with other local artists, helping develop new projects and encouraging the growth of the local music community.
In the meantime, he will continue creating content and sharing the creative process with listeners.
The goal is simple:
Continue building the musical movement that began with this album.
The Road to the Stage
One of the unexpected developments during the launch has been early inquiries about potential performances.
“Those requests have been awesome,” Scott says. “I'm sincerely honored.”
But stepping onto a stage will take preparation.
Currently weighing over 400 pounds, Scott has made the decision to focus on improving his health before performing live.
“Right now I'm extremely heavy, and as a songwriter and producer I think it would be in poor taste to try to put together a good show for people where I'm only singing and sitting in a chair.”
With medical support and determination, he has begun a doctor-assisted weight-loss journey aimed at improving his health and stamina.
At the same time, he continues developing his musical abilities.
“I'm working toward being able to stand and perform for extended periods of time, and I'm continuing to develop as a guitar and piano player.”
If everything progresses according to plan, Scott hopes to begin performing in small, intimate venues in late 2026 or early 2027.
The goal is not simply to perform songs.
It’s to create an experience worthy of the people who have supported the music from the beginning.
A Vision Larger Than Music
For Scott, American Crossroads represents more than an album.
It represents the beginning of a broader movement centered on faith, compassion, and unity.
“The vision is to grow this musical movement,” he says.
At its heart is a message about treating people with dignity and respect.
“We've got to have faith and spread love, treating others the way we want to be treated.”
He believes music can play a role in helping bring people together during a time when unity is often difficult to find.
“If we can re-establish common respect and support for our neighbors,” Scott says,
“then we can start moving toward making positive changes in America and around the world.”
The Beginning of the Journey
The story of American Crossroads (Signature Edition) is still in its earliest chapter.
But the early response has already proven something powerful.
When people believe in a message and come together with a common goal, momentum begins to build.
And in this case, that momentum started with the Launch Team.
The road ahead is long.
But the journey has already begun.
